The InVenture Prize at Georgia Tech is a faculty-led innovation competition for undergraduate students and recent BS graduates of Georgia Tech.

Students can work independently or in teams to develop and present inventions which will be judged by experts. The competitors introduce their inventions in the preliminary round, and the judges' scores determine who will advance to the quick-pitch semifinal round. Six finalists are then selected to advance to the final round shown live by Georgia Public Broadcasting.

Prototype Awards

Participants in the InVenture Prize can apply for reimbursable cash awards to assist with building out their prototype(s).

Prototype Awards of up to $500 each will be given to select students to assist with prototype construction. In order to be considered for an award, students must provide both an itemized budget and a statement (500 words max.) answering the questions related to their idea.

All application materials must be submitted through the online form, which will be available at a later date.

Applicants must complete the "Invention Details" section of registration prior to the deadline in order to be considered for a Prototype Award. Awards will be made on a rolling basis up until March 13, 2024. Awards can only be used to buy materials and supplies for prototype construction. Click here to view the Prototype Award info page. Students participating in project courses where funds are provided by Georgia Tech are not eligible for this award. Be sure to include the names and emails of all team members when submitting an application. Constructing a prototype is not necessary to win the InVenture Prize, but it may be helpful. Judges will not be informed of Prototype Award winners.
